OKEx, the popular global platform for trading crypto exchanges and derivatives, added two more decentralized community experiments two days after listing the SHIB tokens of the Shiba Inu project. The latest projects Akita Inu and Kishu Inu, also named after popular Japanese dog breeds, had their respective tokens – AKITA and KISHU – listed on OKEx on May 14, 2021 and were ready for spot trading against USDT.
According to OKEx, the decision to list AKITA and KISHU was the result of a voting event recently held by the platform. The voting event gave the OKEx community the opportunity to choose two meme token projects from four available options. These two projects share some similarities with the Shiba Inu project, including the part where both projects sent 50% of their token offering to Vitalik Buterin and the rest was locked on Uniswap.
Jay Hao, CEO of OKEx, announced the listing, saying: “After the inclusion of SHIBA in the OKEx platform, we are pleased to be able to add AKITA and KISHU to the mix. We’d also like to thank our community for helping with this particular voting round to determine which token projects should be listed on our platform. We always put our clients’ needs first and their selection and preference are essential elements for us in determining which assets to list. We look forward to continuing to host community events to strengthen our bond with our users and better understand their needs, so we can ensure a rewarding investment experience and strengthen the development of our exchanges and the blockchain community at large. “
The popularity of meme tokens is picking up for the second time after a successful revival of interest in Dogecoin. The listing of SHIB, AKITA and KISHU and the positive reaction of the crypto community to it strengthen the mood.
On the occasion of the event, OKEx has its own version of the rewards for KISHU holders. It offers 2% of the daily trading volume of the tokens which will be distributed proportionally among the KISHU token holders until the end of each week. In addition, OKEx offered the entire trading fees generated from the KISHU / USDT pair in the first week of trading as a special dividend for KISHU holders on the platform.
