According to the Cardano Foundation, the intelligent contract platform Cardano (ADA) has now reached 1 million wallets in a new milestone.
The foundation announced that its evidence-of-use blockchain broke through on Saturday, finding that more than 70% of ADA (valued at approximately $ 33.95 billion at the time of writing) is in worldwide nearly 2,500 active pools are used.
Business analyst and Cardano enthusiast Pieter Nierop tells his 21,100 Twitter followers that thousands of new ADA wallets are created every day, even on days when the price is dropping.
“Historic day, 1,000,000 wallets reached. We clearly need to encourage new people to set their ADA as this brings them very good rewards, is easy to do, and helps protect the network.
The speed of wallet creation is over 6,800 per day with prices falling. “
Nierop also shares a chart showing that the number of ADA wallets has grown almost five times in five months.
The Cardano ecosystem expects massive improvements this summer: The development team behind Ethereum competitor Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK) announced in April that the smart contract functionality will be available in ADA’s blockchain in August. The company is also preparing to roll out a converter that will allow users to exchange supported Ethereum tokens (ERC-20) for special Cardano-based tokens.
At the time of writing, ADA is trading at $ 1.54, according to CoinGecko, up 13% over the last 24 hours and 38.8% over the last 30 days.
