On Sunday evening, Kaval announced Bitcoin acceptance for 2021 season tickets, and at that time, Bitcoin (BTC) traded hands over the $ 60,000 handle. The price of BTC has since dropped and is currently trading for around $ 57,000 at the time of publication.
According to the announcement, the Oakland A’s will sell a suite for six for the entire 2021 season for a single bitcoin by April 1, 2021. The suites allow groups over the age of four to enjoy a game of baseball. A private suite for up to six people costs $ 594 per game. Regular season pricing is $ 64,800 per entry for the entire season.
A-President Dave Kaval: “The price of a seasonal suite can fluctuate, which adds to the excitement.”
Rather than opting for paying in US dollars, a single bitcoin can purchase a suite for six for the entire season. “To order a suite for the entire season and coordinate secure payment in cryptocurrency, contact us at email@example.com,” the announcement said.
“We invite our fans to become the first Bitcoin suite owners in sport,” said A-President Dave Kaval in a statement. “We are delighted to be one of the few teams that accept cryptocurrency as a means of payment and are the first to rate tickets in crypto instead of US currency.” The price of a seasonal suite can fluctuate based on purchase, adding to the excitement. “
According to the A website, not only can the suites accommodate up to six guests, but they also offer free snacks and a private toilet for each suite. Currently, according to the California Health Code, the A ballpark can only open at a capacity of 20%, which equates to approximately 11,000 attendees. The Bitcoin offer ends on April 1st and at current BTC prices, paying with Bitcoin is 13% cheaper.
