For this episode of Bitcoin MagazineIn “Meet The Taco Plebs” I was joined by a longtime friend in space, Saint Bitcoin (@Saint_BITCOIN). Saint is the host of the Pleb Talk Podcast, which is one of my personal favorites. Unfortunately it will be held for the moment until the travel restrictions go away and then Saint will be back with great personal interviews with many plebs.
In this podcast, we discussed how Saint got into Bitcoin and fell into the rabbit hole and why Bitcoin is so important to him. He linked Bitcoin to his beliefs and sees both as a source of truth in which people can learn and lead their lives. Saint and I discussed what is missing in the world today and how people are completely separated and lost. We have detailed what we believe most people are missing and wrong, and how Bitcoin is the beacon of hope that will fix these issues.
We discussed our appreciation and support for the bitcoin taco plebs who have been the all-stars of 2020 and the bear market for the past three years. We called out a few plebs and explained that the institutional investors who come into the room are cool, but that honestly, the hard working, everyday plebs who pile sats are really amazing. Ordinary people who save their entire lives and then accumulate bitcoin are more respectable than millionaires and billionaires who put 1 to 2 percent of their net worth into corn.
Below are some of Saint’s best thoughts shared during the interview. See the full episode for more information.
How did you find Bitcoin and fall into the rabbit hole?
My rabbit hole story isn’t very exciting, but it’s a story of salvation nonetheless.
I first looked at Bitcoin in 2017 when the price was around $ 3,000. I heard about it from a man in my old church. At the time, I had just moved out of my parents’ house, got married, and started my full-time freelance career. Everything was new to me, as was finance and economics.
Unfortunately, I was also involved in shitcoins and a Ponzi program. At the height of the bull run, I watched my account go up tens of thousands of dollars and had no idea what I was doing. I made dollars and lost dollars, but that was my learning curve that plunged me into the world of BTC and understood it to be the highest money there is.
By early 2018, I regretted my shitcoin methods and found Bitcoin Twitter. I wouldn’t be the Bitcoin maximalist I am today if it weren’t for the Bitcoin plebs, the cyber hornets and the bearers of monetary truth. I owe them a lot for my trip! Dr. Bitcoin, American Hodl, Psychedelic El Barto, and Awyee Deater Bob were some of the first reports I followed. I was baptized monetary novelty in the Orange Sea and was never the same. I don’t have fun, I don’t enjoy staying poor.
How did Bitcoin change your life?
I can summarize how Bitcoin changed my life in three ways:
First: NGU technology (Number Go Up), I am not a rich or wealthy person, I am an average worker from America who sees the future on the horizon and a unique opportunity for several millennia is part of it.
Bitcoin can be for everyone, but I really believe it is for the underdogs. NGU is an indicator that you are right when the world, the world system, and those who mocked you all were not correct. It is a refreshing reminder that your belief is paying off and that you are on the right path in the fate of your life and the inheritance of your future. It’s just fun and exciting and brings joy into your daily life!
As the bad men perish in the economic devastation to come, I believe that the greatest transfer of monetary wealth in human history will be in Bitcoin, and I believe lots From the plebs you see today who got on the ground floor, humanity is really going to do something good !!!! LFG !!!
Two: finance. Because of my understanding of Bitcoin today, its purpose, what it is and why it was created, I was able to see behind the veil of deception that hangs over the eyes of the world that still lives in the darkness of central bank fiat. Bitcoin has pulled the curtain back on the false illusion of what money is, and Bitcoin is breaking a new paradigm of truth into the mind of anyone who wants to study it and be a part of it.
Three: hope. With an economic fiat destruction imminent, Bitcoin offers an answer, solution, and method to all of the madness. Many Bitcoiners value the same things: family, legacy, production and building of things that last!
What is the most amazing thing about Bitcoin for you?
Absolute monetary truth, just 21,000,000. Absolute scarcity, the hardest money there is, an unwavering, unbreakable consensus, an immutable global ledger for storing and transmitting encrypted energy over time and space.
As a man who deeply attributes Christian belief in Jesus Christ, this part of Bitcoin surprises me the most. In the Bible, Jesus says, “I am the way, I am the truth and I am the life, nobody goes to heaven and to be with God unless it is through me.” Regardless of your background and history, where you come from, leave your past behind and step into its eternal timeline and follow this better path. Jesus said: “On this rock (Him, the Gospel) I will build my church (all who will believe in the course of history) and the gates of hell will not oppose it.”
With Bitcoin you can now come regardless of your educational background, where you came from, what you believe in, what your economic stature is in society these Time chain, these Consensus, you leave the old life of Fiat understanding behind and achieve a better path and venture into the novelty. Satoshi would say something like, “On this rock (absolute money truth / white paper) I will build the solid money there is, and the gates of hell of the central banks will not prevail.”
How would you advise someone to learn about Bitcoin? What are your favorite podcasts, articles, and books?
I always chase someone to get the smallest amount of skin in the game. $ 5, $ 10, $ 20, $ 50, $ 100, whatever it is for you. For me, no skin means no urgency. Take them from zero to standard and by watching these NGU you’ll have more ground to teach them.
Books: “The Bitcoin Standard”, “Orange Coin Good: The Value of Bitcoin” by @Jimbocoin
Podcasts: “Tales From The Crypt”, “Stephen Livera”, the videos of the BTC sessions and the many pleb podcasts like “Fun With Bitcoin” with @Coinicarus, who interview everyday people on their travels to Bitcoin currency sovereignty.
Article: Always Schilling Parker Lewis’ things. My favorite: “Bitcoin makes all other money obsolete.”
What’s your best bitcoin pitch?
I don’t have an exact pitch as each person is unique and requires their own conversation and reasoning, but I really always try to talk to people about the infinite pressure of money, how our dollar is devalued, what it’s doing in their lives, and how this cycle is going has actually repeated over time.
The Preacher’s Book says, “There’s nothing new under the sun.” What I’ll never do, what I tried when I first got to Bitcoin is to try to convince someone. I’m doing my best to be just a part of their life and drop little truth satoshis into their brains. NGU will do the talking !!!
Those who are really hungry for Truth and something greater will come back and the door will be open to pour into and help them. You can’t save them all, but you can really invest in those you think are worth it!
